Medication Management Key to Increasing Compliance
LEXTEK's medication compliance program featured on CNN

Improper dosing of medications causes many problems and results in needless deaths every year. People are often confused about their medications and when to take them. LEXTEK designed a medication compliance program that utilized a medication dosing device. The program was featured on CNN.

Challenge: Aprex Corporation had designed a dose-recording device and was currently using it for clinical trials.  The company wanted to expand usage of the product into the consumer marketplace.

Solution: LEXTEK designed and delivered a program for reactive medication compliance which was featured on CNN's Science and Technology Today.   The project was completed within six months.  Features included:

  • Data capture of medication dosing events from an in-home device that dialed in to a server each night
  • Analysis of dosing events against a prescribed schedule
  • Nurse call queue that reported errant events
  • Variable routing protocol manager for nurse call staff which included chronological recording of activity for patient record
  • Ordering and billing system
  • Client/Server application developed in C++
